Raynault Foundation

The Raynault Foundation, a small 501(c) 3 non profit corporation, is the first sponsor of the World Assembly.

Paul Raynault, the President, started this foundation in 1992 to extend the choices available to everyone. Previous foundation activities include:

  • Sponsoring the formation of a Charter School in 1997, mainly serving the minority community in northern New Jersey.
  • Producing a document in 1996 on how government budgets could be organized to be self policing and more understandable to voters.
  • Sponsoring seminars on democratic elections in Eastern Europe in 1993 involving IFES (International Foundation for Election Systems), the Democracy After Communism Foundation, and the Hungarian Election Foundation.
  • Producing a series of papers in 1991 on ways the states of the former Soviet Union could restructure that would minimize ethnic conflict while encouraging economic development.

Orion Institute

Russ and Cheryl Genet have been very instrumental in developing the Student World Assembly as a pilot project. They are also assisting the effort to transform this to a full World Assembly.

Cal Poly (California Polytechnic State University)

Professor Bud Evans and the senior administration of Cal Poly were very quick to realize the importance of this effort and to offer extremely generous support throughout the startup phase.

World Citizen Foundation

Troy Davis, President, has been publicizing the importance of a non governmental world democratic movement for many years and is a consultant for this effort. They launched the World Democracy campaign in 1999.

National Service Conference

Martha Gallahue, the Director, has offered very strong support, especially with respect to interfacing with the United Nations and relevant NGOs.

Global Youth Alliance Network

Luis A. Davila Ortega has been very active in introducing the Student World Assembly to other Youth Groups and in providing information about similar efforts.
